Tease – cupcake heaven in Lisbon

There is nothing Portuguese about Tease. If you’ve had enough of typical Portuguese sweetness and you’re craving for a ‘normal’ pie, then Tease is a great place to go.

Tease Cupcake Bar

Another big advantage of Tease is that it is located in one of my favorite neighborhoods: Príncipe Real. If you want to discover another side of Lisbon, one with a lot less tourists, then go to Tease.

Cupcake heaven

If you need to give your sugar level a boost then I definitely recommend eating a delicious cupcake here. Tease is a small and charming café, the cupcakes and pies are just there for you, with an abundance of choice. On the other hand, seeing all those great pies makes choosing a lot more difficult! Perhaps that’s where the name comes from…

Tease cupcakes

The red velvet raspberry cupcake is our favorite, but it really doesn’t matter what you choose. You can hardly go wrong here.

Charming eating place

Tease is a mix of antique embellishments and hip stuff, such as the light box with the name Tease on it. Yet the café has a Portuguese twist, thanks to the azulejos at the bar.

It is the perfect place to enjoy a cup of tea with something tasty after a long walk through Lisbon.

Not that many tourists have discovered Tease yet, which makes it even more attractive for me to eat a cake again next time.

Tease has moved

Tease has moved within Príncipe Real and are now just around the corner of where they were first. Below is the new address.

Good news if a visit to Prinicipe Real doesn’t fit into your plan. They’ve also opened a branch near Cais do Sodré! In this small shop near the Tagus you can now also enjoy their delicious cakes.
