This is how Lisboetas describe it: at Gelato Davvero you’ll find a bit of Rome in Lisbon.
Less than three years ago, their first ice cream shop was opened at Cais do Sodré. Soon enough five more stores followed in Lisbon and another four outlets outside the city.
This is the fastest growing chain of ice cream parlours in Lisbon and surroundings. When you’ve tasted the ice, you’ll understand why.
Local products
The most sold taste is morango (strawberries), especially with the locals this taste does best. The ingredients for this ice cream flavour are bought at Mercado da Ribeira, this applies to all flavours of Gelato Davvero.
Fresh products
The products are fresh and the ice cream is handmade. The ice cream is not the only reason for the Lisboetas to go to Gelato Davvero. What makes it a piece of Rome in Lisbon are the waffles with ice. The waffles are exactly as you can find them in Rome and are a big favorite with the locals.
Many special flavours
When you see the ice cream card from Gelato Davvero, there are many special flavours. Don’t be alarmed to see variations like olive, Parmesan cheese or Champagne Moët & Chandon.
We had strawberry, chocolate, salted caramel, mango and gianduia. Hard to say which one was the tastiest. That is why we’ll definitely go back again to try some more. This is certainly one of our new favorite ice cream shops.
