Ice cream store Amorino describes herself best: Amorino is celebrating love with a gourmet touch. We are sold!
Amorino has three different stores across Lisbon. Two are located in the Baixa and Chiado districts. And there’s also a branch in the Vasco da Gama shopping centre on the former expo site Parque das Nações..
The ice cream here is a bit more expensive than we’re used to but then again, how often do you eat ice cream shaped in the form of a flower?
Rose petals to eat
When you order a cone, the ice cream is presented as a flower. A feast for the eyes and especially if you know what the ice cream tastes like, we dare you to not wait in line for another round!
If you choose a cup then they don’t give you the fancy flower. Too bad for the eyes but in the end it’s all about the taste, am I right?
A queue
In recent years Amorino has become a popular and well-known ice cream parlor with a queue that crawls outside. And rightly so we think! We’ve tasted a lot of flavours here and there’s really something for everyone. I really like the fruit flavours, especially the mango. My boyfriend enjoyed the chocolate more.
Beware of melted ice
Obviously you can enjoy the ice cream in the Chiado store. There are a number of chairs and tables or high stools. But as it’s a very popular place chances are there is no space to sit inside. You can also choose to take your ice cream to Praça de Camões. Don’t forget to lick your ice cream on the way. In hot weather there is a great danger that your ice cream melts quickly!
